New Year, New Wardrobe..how to build from classics

New Year/ New Closet Check list:

It’s a new year and I know we all reflect on our closets and ourselves. What we want to add to our wardrobe this year? More Color? Or less? Well as a personal shopper and Stylist I do a bunch of wardrobe analyst and I give them this exact list. It’s almost like when you build a home you need a firm foundation then you add all the fun stuff? Well this is how I see a successful wardrobe. Build from the foundation (classics) then you get to add all the fun stuff (trends). So hopefully this list can get you started on building a wardrobe of your dreams that will help you save money.

Dress:

Little Black Dress

Maxi Dress

Knit Dress

Flower print Spring Dress

Bottoms:

Skinny Jeans

2 pairs of regular jeans

blk trousers

blk pencil skirt

Printed pencil skirt

Blk skinnys jeggings

Tops:

3 colorful cardigans

3 casual t shirts

1 white/blk/nude basic tees

3 printed blouses

1 white/navy collard button up

1 denim button up/flannel

Accessories:

1 watch

1 gold necklace

1silver necklace

3 or more printed colorful scarves

floppy hat

colorful opaque tights

1 colorful purse/blk purse

3 colorful skinny belts

1 blk wide belt/white belt

2 baseball caps

1 one piece swimwear

1 two piece swimwear

2 colorful necklaces

Ok everyone so go out strong this year and even though the fun stuff is great too make sure you understand you can’t build on the trendy stuff alone. Good luck and like always ask me questions if needed.

Whoooo Whoooo… Wants a Style Steal??

Lately I have been going crazy trying to find cute sweaters! In my opinion, you can never have enough sweaters… never ever. I love the fun/comfy/”I never want to take this off” kind of sweater… and I found a great one at Nordstrom. This Kensie ‘Owl’ Sweater is 40% off right now!! To me this screams “take me home and put me in your closet forever”… because…

1) perfect yellow 2) cute owl (whoooo whoooo) and 3) loving the elbow patches …

Now it’s time to grab this sweater at Nordstrom and curl up with some hot chocolate and a good read!

DIY Accessories Wall

HAPPY HALLOWEEN BE SAFE…..

Ok as you all know I was a Buyer for 5 years and one of the things I love the most was being able to pick out my deliveries and hang them up on a rod and was able to see how everything went together for merchandising and colors and so many other reasons. As a stylist I have to put many outfits together each day either for clients, me. and or shows. So I missed the bar where I can hang and see how things look and be prepared for the day. So I decided to just put a accessory wall in my room….hubby wasn’t to thrilled but loved me enough to let me keep it for now…until we remodel our room of course! But then I want to put it in my closet. You all need this makes planning wardrobe that much easier. Here are the pics….hopefully you can come up with how you would want to lay it out.

Ok so I went simple just used a curtian rod from any store like target and hung it up. Then all around just used push pins to hang up necklaces. I used Ikea sticks to push in push pins and hang hats and more necklaces off of that. Just nailed it up. Then shelf. I am wanting to add more but here is a start so get some hooks and what ever you want and make your fashion become art.

THIS IS SO TOTALLY RANDOM PIC BUT I HAD TO SHARE IT TODAY. THIS IS WHAT I LOOK AT EVERY TIME I PULL IN AND OUT OF MY GARAGE. MY TWO BUDDIES WILLOW MY DOG AND RALPH MY CAT. SO CUTE THEY WATCH ME LEAVE AND COME HOME. RANDOM I KNOW BUT HAD TO SHARE

Style Steal Thursday

Good morning Fashionistas… it’s Thursday and I have a new quote for you: “Stay Calm and Carry on with Camouflage”. This fall, “camo-print” is everywhere and I found this super cute pair of skinnies from ASOS. This pair of pants is not your traditional camouflage print, but we would not be fashion-lovers if we had to play by all the rules!! This is a major steal too, originally $61.57, this amazing pair of denim is ONLY $36.94!!!!! You can’t beat that for a good pair of fall denim!!!!
