Even this studded light sweater I love! Studs are a must have and it comes in all forms for spring so shop away. Buy this here!

Neon belts: Neon belts are so perfect for spring. They are so fun and bright and are great for those who don’t like a ton of color all over but just a bit of a pop. Wear a fun skinny belt from Downeast. They have so many to choose from with such a great price. Must have for spring. Even wear two at the same time and make it your own.

Sock Trends: Socks have never been so in style ever! They have made a come back in a major way! I love to show my socks off! One of my most fave sock brands is Stance Socks! They are my best friends with my feet. Socks are supposed to be rocked on many levels but one new trend for spring is the sock sandal trend! Never thought I would say that again…but it just happened. So if you feel free and adventurous try these new looks out for a try!

Spring Scarfs: Pull out the light weight scarves and have some fun adding the latest new spring colors and patterns in such a fun chic way. Have fun tieing it up around your neck, using it for a swimsuit coverup, and as a head scarf as you hike or go boating. Scarves are a must have! You need to get creative with your scarves and really let yourself not get stuck in a dark bland color. Go bold with your scarf because that is what you should be styling around. Love these ones for spring time!

My go to spring scarf is polka dots just adds so much fun to your spring outfit. Love this one from Downeast Basics. Buy here!

Turq. is my fave all summer long:

Turq and pinks were all the rage on my show today. Love this necklace from SiraMara.com

Ok everyone that should wrap up some of my must have spring finds. You know I love it to get warmer….so now if I could get the snow to melt these items would just be key pieces in my wardrobe. When you want to stay on trend it’s easy and less expensive to save on buying some fun accessories each season to update your wardrobe. Happy shopping.

Cheers,

Jen

Wash Any Type Of Fabric At Home

By jenclydestylist | March 5, 2013 | Segments, Uncategorized | No comments

So being a personal shopper and fashion blogger you know I get so many questions on how to clean clothes! So I thought why not do a show about it on my ABC4 Fashion Segment I do each week. I picked some of my fave top tips plus I found an awesome video on FabSugar.com that gave awesome tips too that I referred from on my blog. So thanks Fabsugar. We have all had those questions about your favorite new top that you can’t wait to wear and then you hate to wash it because your too afraid of making it that much more destroyed in the dreaded washer. So here are some tips I think you will just love. Hope this helps!

COTTON- Tend to shrink over time! This always happens to me so if you follow this then you can wear the love out of that Tee.

1.Cold Water

2.Don’t dry mostly if you love the fit!

3. Hang Dry

SILK- Don’t be afraid to wash this…totally easier then you think!

1. Hand Wash in cold water

2. Apply Mild Detergent Woolite or Dreft to help preserve garments natural oils

3. Rinse in cold water to remove all soap.

4. Apply few drops of hair conditioner to tub of water let sit for 5 mins. This helps fabric to stay soft and flexible.

5. Hang Dry!

6. Handy tip: If you need a spot clean use lemon or vinegar

CASHMERE- WARNING! CHECK LABEL FOR DRY CLEAN ONLY. IF IT IS DRY CLEAN IF NOT FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

1. Hand wash in luke warm water

2. Mild Soap/Shampoo-Recommend using facial soap like Neutrogena

3. Never ring out or twist! It will lose its shape LAY FLAT TO DRY WARNING: NEVER HANG ON A HANGER TO DRY!

WOOL- CAN BE TRICKY! IF WASHED IT CAN COME OUT LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR A CHILD

1. Doesnt need to be washed very often so don’t wash often

2. Soak in  cold water for few hours to help saturate all wool fivers to help with shrinkage.

3. Make Soap solution with Woolite or Dreft and hair conditioner

4. Lay Flat to Dry

SUEDE-NEED A SUEDE BRUSH AND ERASER! YOU CAN BUY AT WALLMART

1. Use eraser first then brush the fabric down

2. NO WASHING SUEDE

3. Oil stains use cornstarch then brush to normal

4. Water stains use paper towel to soak it up

CHIFFON-CHECK LABEL TO SEE IF IT’S MADE FROM SILK IF SO USE SILK DIRECTIONS IF IT’S NOT AND IT’S CHEAPY CHIFFON FROM RAYON OR POLYESTER THEN FOLLOW THESE STEPS

1. Wash in machine

2. Cold Cycle on gental cycle

3. Mild Detergent

4. Dryer on cool and short cycle.

SATIN

1. Machine wash in cold water

2. Mild Detergent

3. Air Dry No Twisting or ringing it out. This will lose its shape

4. Iron inside out

DELICATES

1. Lingerie Bag in the washer on cool

2. Connect bra  hooks and ilets together before washing to avoid hooking on to other items.

3. Avoid Dryer! So you can avoid elastic working and loosing shape.

JEANS

1. Turn inside out to help protect the wash on the jeans unless you want the faded looks as part of your style

2. Lay flat to dry, helps keep the size of the jeans perfect to fit.

3. Dry in dryer if you want them to shrink up a bit if they stretched too much.

Ok I hope this helps.! Thanks for watching me every week on my Fashion Segment on ABC4 Utah. Catch me next week talking on more spring trends for this season.

Cheers

Spring Swimwear Report

By jenclydestylist | February 19, 2013 | Segments | No comments

Well it’s that time where some of us love….and some of us moms hate! I think Ohhh gosh, now I have to get tan, shave my legs everyday, and workout! Yes I know I should be doing this year round but…well….I am not! So some of us love it because you have been working out and getting tan and your ready for some cute swimwear to go with your hot vibe. So you’re in luck! Many different companies have been rocking the vintage vibe which is my fave and then the sporty one along with the hot colored bikinis. So what ever you’re wanting to rock this summer I think you will be very happy with some of my top picks for swimwear this season. What to buy? Here are my top faves.

Vintage Vibe:

This suit I love from DownEast. Vintage Vibe and great price. Fits well and great for bigger chested women with that under wire to help hold up that area and not look droopy affect and help out those backs! Love the print and piping. Go here to buy!

This one piece beauty takes Vintage to a next level. Modern vintage style is what I like to call it. I love the side tie and the stripes of course and this suit is so well made that the fabric holds you in so you look 10 pounds thinner. This is one you want to have this summer. Albion swimwear had many of choices and many more coming out March 1st 2013 with their whole new swimwear styles. You have to stay up with this company because their fits and styles are ones you don’t want to miss. Go here to shop!

Anthropologie keeps vintage classy, timeless, sleek, slimming, and just a plain must have! For moms like me I love it because black is my slimming save and tucks in tummies, and covers that it spot on your hips and bum area! This is a simple clean beautiful suit all must have for this season. Pricer but worth it for a good fit and a good hold of our booty. Buy here online!

Sporty:

Ok I am in love with these boy shorts and tankini! I just wore mine in Hawaii last week the whole time. This suit is great for paddle boarding and surfing! This is cute too, to rock just walking down the board walk with a cute tank for a walk or a skateboard ride. Basically these go and move everywhere with you without any bum cheek flying out where not wanted! So when on the go this Alibon suit will change your world. Buy here online! Comes in red too!

When you think sporty as a mom I always think…What can I wear chasing after my 5-year-old and look clean sporty and put together? Or how can I party with the 13-year-old down the water slide without embarrassing him with my bikini being on top of my head instead of where it should be? Go with the sporty one piece your still cute and you can be comfy as well. Nothing screams cute more than comfortable in your own skin and with this fit and classic coloring. Go buy here at DownEast.

Nothing screams sporty more than Roxy Swimwear. They just get it right. They know how to use colors and patterns in a tom girl type of way …..not too girly but girly enough. Love this backless. Check it out and buy it here online.

Hot Bikinis:

This fringe number is such a must have!! I love fringe and when you go with a two piece this year this has to be up on your list. Love the vibe and love how it comes in many different colors from free people! Go buy here.

I heart tribal prints and I love this suit that has just that! I love this top with a cool maxi skirt too. Easy to turn from bathing suit to beach top. This little number is easy, sweet, and trend driven. Click here to see it!

So this year make sure you use these swim buying tips:

Bigger chest:cup top, tie around the neck or shoulders, stay way from strap less without a cup

Smaller chested: One shoulder strap, sporty tankini, x back, stay away from cups

Bigger hips: Go with a swim skirt, vintage one piece with longer sides, full back, one piece helps. Stay away from string sides that push out unwanted areas

Smaller hips: Anything usually looks great on your body! But side ties look fab, high-waisted looks super cute, and anything that has a great tight fit.

Bigger Tummy: One piece, Tankini, blouses tankini

What ever you wear …..just have fun and wear it with confidence. Later today my show on swimwear featuring Alibon will be posted here for you to watch live! Now go Pin happy! Pin what you love.

Also don’t miss this amazing water proof Jewelry line that incases elements around the world in all their jewelry and each piece tells a story and you carry around the story in between two layers on eco friendly resin! I am in love with the new spring line that goes perfect with each swimsuit and I just wore a bunch on my trip to hawaii. It’s their new Vibrant line and you can swim in it, and you can hike in it, and you can live in it. This is made to go where ever you go! Have to have with all your swimwear this spring and summer and all your vacations! Best stuff ever! Go shop now at www.colorbyamber.com Check them out you will be amazed. Here is a taste of the vibrant line from mexico here!

This is all fabric from the hills of Mexico handmade. They are incased and you can wear anywhere. Total water proof! Your go to swimwear/active wear/fashion wear jewelry! Go buy here!

How To Think Like A Stylist When Getting Dressed! Great Tips

By jenclydestylist | January 22, 2013 | Segments, Weekend Inspiration, YouTube channel | 2 Comments

How To Think Like A Stylist When Getting Dressed

 Jen Clyde Stylist Says…

Ok I love to find some great tips inspired by other stylist as well as use some of my own! Now some of the things I notice while being a fashion blogger is that I am always getting questions like..I just can’t pull that off! This is just not true! You can do anything you want too. You just need the confidence to do so. So here are some of my own tricks I use when I get dressed every morning and then here are some others from great stylist that I just loved! So enjoy! Get creative and just relax fashion is not perfect!

1. Add cool factor: I love this! Ok let me explain. So I feel like if my outfit is too predictable I just add some Jeffery Campbell’s shoes or some big bold bright necklace or earrings. As a stylist we are constantly playing around in clothes and trying new things. Like a chef (I do not cook by the way) but Mac and Cheese just doesn’t cut it anymore after a while. So test new things and add that “Cool Factor” of your own. Can just be one stand out piece that you are just a bit nervous to wear.

2. Wear fashion opposites at the same time:  Basically a true stylist thinks as an artist. They like to play with texture, prints, and colors. People always ask me questions on How To…but here is a way I think as I am getting dressed. I like to mix a silk blouse with cut off jean shorts, or I like t-shirt with a pencil skirt. I love to put things together that are not best friends and when you do this it can end up in a fashion moment. Some do some don’t but unless you try to unless your willing to hear all sorts of opinions then play it safe. Just feel beautiful and you will make any outfit shine.

3. Not Afraid of DIY: Most Stylist love to invent their ideas in their own head into fashion. I love to test out different ways to take something old and make it new and modern. I feel like when you mix these different times of fashion you end up with a master piece  So take old grandma brooches and add to your belt or take them and add them to your purse either way anything you do will turn out amazing and turn heads and make something boring become masterful.

4. The Half Tuck: I always do this from front of my blouse or jeans to not commit to the full tuck but gives you more of a volume and texture to your outfit. I love how it hangs from behind like it’s a messy fashion statement but it works. I love how you can do the one tuck as well just one corner of you button up top. Either way it just gives a different element to wearing your clothes. Try it you will love it.

5. J. Crew Roll: Ok I call this the J. Crew roll, because a cute Stylist from J.Crew blogged some How To’s and I fell in love with this tip and I think you will too. It was on how to roll a sleeve. Instead of tucking the cuff and then rolling, you fold the shirt up once up by the elbow then take the rest and roll it up to the cuff so the cuff is standing out leaving cool detail and then they even stay up better and don’t get loose. To see more of this blog post and ideas click here.

6. Messy pant roll: I love this again from J. Crew Stylist. She shared her messy pant roll. I always do this with some booties but I was happy to see her use it with some flats. I love how it stands out more. As you can tell by most of these stylist tips that having rolls and tucks and patterns to not look perfect is how you get more of that stylist look. Also these rolls stay better and don’t kick you back into the 1950s rolled jean era.

7. Knotted Scarf: You know I love to have some fun ways to tie a scarf which you can go watch online on my YouTube Channel but for an easy way to just throw a scarf on for extra color tie knots at the bottom of each end. Makes it more easy to wear and it makes it just a bit more stand out and different the person sitting right next to you.

As a stylist everyday is a fun day getting dressed because I feel my best outfits come when I don’t try to get that perfect outfit. If I over think it then I know the outfit is not going to work. Remember your personallity and confidence make anything you wear seem effortless.

My show on ABC4 will be posted later after the show aires. All outfit details and information will be posted below. Thanks for Watching my weekly ABC4 Fashion Segment.

Here were my outfits today on the show. Special thanks to DownEast, SuperTrash.com, Sol -Angeles ….amazing!

Socks Are In Style !

By jenclydestylist | November 27, 2012 | Segments | 4 Comments

The socks have always been the hidden accessory well no more! They have become more a fashion statement last couple of years and I welcome it fully. I am loving the little sense of style that the new fun sock designs are giving us lately. Even with men…I feel like they tell alot about a guy. When a man is in a suit and I get a pop of funkyness when his pant leg moves up a bit…I am like…oh, ok he has a bit of spice up his sleeve. Meaning he is stylish. So how do we wear the socks in the winter time? Let them add some fun to your winter wear this season. Here are some fun ideas.

Peek a Boo: I love this new trend you see below. It’s so fun. Show that cute design by a little peg roll of the skinny jeans with some high heels. You ask, “can I wear this with flats?” No!  You cannot. Works with a boot heel and skinny jeans only. Stay away from flats and wide legs when trying this cute new trend.

Show Them Off: This is the most popular trend for past few years. Wearing them long and proud. Making them become a part of you outfit fully and loving it. You can do this with a long knee sock over your jeans or with a skirt. Either way they are fun when you pop them out the top of your boots. Stay away from wide leg jeans or to bulky of a sock or leg warmer. When they are too bulky they make your legs look wider. Here are some cute ways to do it.

it’s the little ankle sock! Love this look with your cute stilettos  Some people think it looks to youthful or young but I think it’s fun if you can pull it off well. Looks best with a cute dress and skirt. You can get away with it if your wearing shorts but for winter it’s way cold. So if you wear it with a legging you get the same dress up look but still warm. Check out some fun looks below that I love.

So get your sock shopping on for christmas. Some of my fave sock stores are H&M and Target. They always have way fun socks. Great present for those guys too. Love it. Best stocking stuffer. So for all the info on my ABC4 Utah segment today please wait and I will be postin all the info where to buy after the show airs.

Thanks For Watching Today on ABC4 Here are the looks and where to go buy these socks!

Bright Yellow Socks: Forever 21

Polka Dot Socks: Forever 21

Long knitted socks: Free People.com

Purple Knitted Socks: Anthro.

How to wear the most stylish hats this season

By jenclydestylist | November 13, 2012 | Segments | 2 Comments

HOW TO WEAR THE MOST STYLISH HATS THIS SEASON

The hat is becoming a little more than just a practical item, it is a must have stylish, valuable fashion accessory which can either complete your look or help you stand out. For me it’s not only about standing out…it’s about combining warmth and style to make a amazing winter outfit. Some of my faves this season and advice on how and where to wear these styles.

Fur Hats: These are one of my top faves. I love this more in the neutral colors like real fur would look. I am not a lover of having real fur but I am not a hater of you wearing it either. I feel that it’s a personal choice like voting. We don’t judge you. So if you choose to wear the fur it’s super easy to wear. It’s more of a throw on and go type hat. They come in all sorts of shapes and styles but really this will not only keep you warm it will go with a dressed up outfit or dressed down. It’s like the white t shirt in  your closet. Have fun with this one.

Cloche Hats: I love this because it’s a vintage inspired style of hat from the 1920s that bring a lovely sense of fashion with them. When you put these on your instantly updated with a fashion forward amazing look that is instant timeless and chic. Where to wear these…I love them for a work type style, or night out on the town outing. They give more of that dress up feel so it’s great to wear them this way.

Fedora hats

Fedora hats are probably the most versatile hats ever invented. First designed for men in the 19th century, now fedoras are unisex and can be worn with everything. They give that new trend of men’s wear looks a instant sex appeal. I love these because you look smart and stylish. One of my fave and comes in many different colors and styles but one of my fave just the black basic so classy and clean looking. Love this look dressed up or down either way this one you can rock at anytime of you day.

Slouched beanie: This is your slouched everyday hat that you want to wear out sledding with the  kids and want to look cute. This is not one you want to wear going for a night out but more so to do your shopping in. When your out and about this is your number one hat that saves us from a bad hair day to a cold face! This one is a must have in many different types and colors. Cheaper and furry and sometimes comes with earflaps to add that extra warmth. Rock with your snow bunny outfits to your jeans.

Click on photos to go to the store to buy

Turbans: One that is a bit more edgy but I love it. Super fun and funky and keeps your head warm as well as looking super stylish! This hat is a great for a relaxed look and easy going day. Helps all of us who have bangs and don’t want to do them but not too much where you can’t wear it all day. This is one of my fave looks and you all need one.

Stay warm, Stay Stylish, and go buy some new hats. They are the perfect gift.
