High top sneakers are getting HUGE right now! I’m in love with them. They are even coming out with high top sneakers in wedges. Which sounds gross…but they are totally amazing. Seriously. High top converse are the best to start out with. I love converse on girls. But if you want a more daring look, go with some wedged high tops! Here are a few of my favorites. So I have a feeling that this Summer if going to include a lot of 50′s style. Which I couldn’t be happier about! So here are a few tips to dress 50′s and some pieces you need! My inspiration for this all started with this lovely picture. Isn’t it amazing? Yes. Totally amazing.
For the Casual Saturday Afternoon:
For every day 50′s wear you just need a few pieces. Some of they you probably already have and you don’t even know it! First off, you’ll need the perfect 50′s midi length skirt. Here are a couple cute ones that I died over. Any print will do, it’s mostly the shape you’re going for. (Items from ASOS, click the images to go to link).
Then you’ll need the perfect top to go with your skirt. Tucked in, obviously. Again, any print will do but you’re mostly going for shape on this as well. 50′s shirts come up very high on the neck and are cropped. Here are a couple that I like. (Items from ASOS, click the images to go to link).
For the Business Woman:
50′s business attire is one of my favorites. I love the sleek look and you still see it everywhere. Here are some skirts I love. The two tops above would be super cute paired with these skirts as well with a black blazer over top. (Items from ASOS, click the images to go to link).
For the Beach Babe:
Alright. 50′s swimwear is probably my favorite thing in this whole world. I die over high-waisted bathing suits. So here are a couple suits from Anthropologie. They always have great 50′s (ish) suits. (Click the images to go to link).
Now for the accessories. Lots and lots of pearls. Also, lots of bright beaded jewelry (like the first picture). Hats!! I love hats. There’s one below. Also, sunglasses. Can’t go out without your cat-eye sunglasses. Round sunglasses were also huge back then. BRIGHT LIPSTICK!! I love lipstick. Red. Pink. Orange. Whatever they are all amazing. A couple more tips. ALWAYS belt it. Skirt, pants, dress, whatever. In the 50′s they were huge on showing off their waists. Pointy toed heels. Handbags, no shoulder strapped bags. And, of course, be confident in what you’re wearing! Happy Weekend!!

I was in love with Michelle Money‘s look.
