Family Photo Season

By jenclydestylist | August 31, 2011 | Services | No comments

I was walking through Costco and Hobby Lobby recently and was shocked to see that they were already selling Christmas decorations. Can you believe that it’s coming around the corner?

Well, with Christmas decorations comes Christmas family photos. The stress of finding what to wear, where to get them taken, who to have take them, etc. These are added stresses that no one needs this time of year. So why not have someone else worry about all this and take care of it for you?

I have been doing styling for family photos for years and would love to help you out to make sure that this moment is captured just the way you want it.

Christmas photos can be fun and wild, but why not go all out in style and show everyone how amazing you and your family are looking this year.

Message me at jenbiggs@me.com for pricing and to set up a time to figure out what will work best for your stylish family photo.

Cheers!

Feelin’ Crafty?

By jenclydestylist | August 28, 2011 | Uncategorized | No comments

Can’t find the right necklace holder for all of your baubles?  Don’t wanna spend a ton of money on one?  Feelin’ a little crafty one summer afternoon?  This fun (and really, really inexpensive) branch and rope necklace holder is a cute take on the classic jewelry stand!  One of our interns, Annalicia, decided to make it, and it ended up costing her about $2.50 in total!  It makes a great addition to a college student’s apartment, a little girl’s bedroom, or anyone’s house that needs a rustic, organic touch.

We found this DIY over at Because I’m Addicted, an excellent fashion, food, and living blog run by a cute girl from Los Angeles! Check out this absolutely fantastic video that shows you how to make the necklace holder!

Have fun! And if you end up making it, post a picture of it on our Facebook wall!

Cheers!

Love shoes? Love art? What if I told you that you could get the best of both worlds?

We had to share these amazing shoes by Taylor Reeve from Encinitas, California. Her artwork is incredible, but the fact that she can fit in on the back of a pair of sexy heels? Totally astonishing.

These are defiantly a statement piece that will make any outfit really pop.

Check out her etsy store here. And follow her on Facebook

The Best Back to School Trends for Fall

By jenclydestylist | August 23, 2011 | Uncategorized | No comments

In case you missed today’s style segment on CW 30′s The Daily Dish, click on over HERE to check out the video!  You can also check out our previous blog post on where to find the clothes & accessories from the show by clicking HERE!

——————————————————————————————

There are so many trends going on this Fall, but which ones should you pick? Budgets make choosing between different trends really difficult. Well, here are my top picks from all of the trends this season and why you need them this school year.

Jeans
Girls–go with skinny jeans. If you can only pick out one pair of jeans this year, they will give you instant sleek look with a style basic that you can wear with anything this season. You can wear them with boots, flats, and sneakers because they are so versatile. If you are feeling a bit self-conscious about your upper half, choose a longer, cute and baggy sweater tunic to wear with the skinny jeans so they can still work for you. If you are more into flare jeans, which are really in style this season, you may have a hard time wearing those boots in the winter, and you donʼt want wet jeans while sitting in class all day.
Boys- You baggy pants that drag on the ground must go. Instead, try to meet in the middle with a dark slouchy straight leg it will be sleek and comfy.

Jackets
Girls- I love so many of the trends for jackets this year, but my pick is the Bomber.
Itʼs light weight, weather resistant, and gives you added style in a minute. It’s easy to stuff in your locker or back pack and looks great over blouses, dresses, and jeans. This will save you money and the back ache of carrying around a big heavy coat. Any color is great, and there are a ton out.
Boys- I love boys in a cute basic cotton zip up hoodie. Choose vintage looking hoodies or clean ones without any crazy graphics. It will go with everything and give you some color when paired with your favorite tees.

Prints
Girls-I am loving the tribal print. It’s so amazing! It really stands out and gives added color to any pair of jeans or long maxi skirt. You can wear with any denim dark or light and it will also go with a bomber jacket.
Boys- Go with plaid over a cute plain tee. You can never go wrong.

Hats
Girls-Slouchy beanie hats are always a must on those days where you just keep hitting the snooze button. When your hair is not working with you and you canʼt be tardy, it adds instant style to a dress, jeans, or t shirt. Instant style in 5 minutes or less, and try to go bold in color when wearing hats.
Boys- A great baseball cap is always a classic for boys. Really, there is nothing wrong with a cute cap that will help those bad hair days.

Jewelry
Girls-If you could only pick one must have jewelry it would be stacked up bangles. They go with anything t shirts, and more and you can mix and match old with new and colors with gold. You can throw on a big stack of them when you run out the door. They add so much glam to a vintage tee and jeans.
Boys- If you want to rock jewelry this year, go with a fat leather band bracelet. This will give you just a little bit of that edge to stand out.

Shoes
Girls-Textured lace up leather flat boots. They are flat and they are black. They will rock up a sweater dress and leggings, but will also make any jacket or t shirt look amazing. They will trek through snow, rain, and shine and also add some comfy cute chic to any outfit.
Boys- Go with converse this year. There are so many different styles to choose from that you canʼt go wrong with. I love the converse in any color and any style.

Most important, whatever trends your children choose to rock, tell them to wear it with confidence because no matter what, they look amazing!

Cheers, Jen

Local Boutique: Blend Fashions

By jenclydestylist | August 22, 2011 | Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Today we pulled a bunch of gorgeous clothes from Blend for tomorrow’s style segment on The Daily Dish, and I think it’s safe to say that we are all obsessed!  Blend Fashions is located in University Mall in Orem, and they have an impeccably edited selection of apparel and accessories from brands like G-Star RAW, Free People, and Rich & Skinny (just to name a few).  We were loving all of their chic fall jackets, delicate chiffon blouses, and skinny cargo trousers that were a fresh take on the popular skinny jean look.  But enough of our chatter– here are some fun pictures of the store!
